Library

I am Cortni Donahue, your child’s library teacher. This is my 13th year of teaching but my first year as a librarian. My background has been primarily in a 5th grade English/language arts classroom. I grew up in Greene County; I attended Doak Elementary School, Chuckey-Doak High School, and East Tennessee State University. I am currently attending Trevecca Nazarene University where I am earning my masters in library and information science.

 

Your child will come to the library for lessons and check out times. Students must return at least one book during the following library class in order to get a new book.
How many books students are allowed:
• Kindergarten and 1st grade – 1 book
• 2nd and 3rd grade – 2 books
• 4th and 5th grade – 3 books

 

Students may check out a book of their choice. We will have lessons about how to find a book and how to look through it to make sure they want it. Students are also welcome to ask their teacher to visit the library during open times.
