Camp Creek Elementary School Library
Meet the Librarian
Hello! My name is Cortni Donahue, and I am your child’s library teacher. This is my 14th year in education, but my first year serving as a school librarian. Before stepping into this role, I taught 5th grade English/Language Arts.
I grew up right here in Greene County, where I attended Doak Elementary School and Chuckey-Doak High School before earning my undergraduate degree from East Tennessee State University. Most recently, I graduated from Trevecca Nazarene University with my Master’s degree in Library and Information Science. I’m thrilled to bring my love of books and learning into the library and to share that excitement with your child.
Library Visits & Book Checkout
Students will come to the library for both lessons and book checkout times. To check out a new book, students must return at least one book from their previous visit.
Book Checkout Limits by Grade Level:
- Kindergarten & 1st Grade – 1 book
- 2nd & 3rd Grade – 2 books
- 4th & 5th Grade – 3 books
Students may choose any book that interests them. During lessons, we’ll practice how to find books and preview them to make sure they’re a good fit. In addition, students are welcome to ask their classroom teacher for permission to visit the library during open checkout times.
Staying Connected
Please don’t hesitate to reach out if you ever have questions about the library program. I am excited to partner with you this year and to help your child discover books they truly love!
